Job Description
Senior Linux Embedded Developer optimizing embedded Linux systems for an engineering company. Focus on performance analysis, debugging, and system improvements in an international environment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize system performance (CPU usage, scheduler latency, memory footprint, I/O performance)
- Work with Linux Kernel internals (scheduler, memory management, IRQ/driver stack)
- Perform tracing and analysis using tools such as KernelShark, trace-cmd, and ftrace
- Identify performance bottlenecks and regressions
- Debug embedded systems using tools like strace, dmesg, perf, and LTTng
- Build and maintain Yocto-based Linux distributions
- Create and optimize system images (poky, bitbake, layers)
- Develop and maintain custom recipes and meta-layers
- Work with the Linux networking stack (netlink, TC, eBPF)
- Implement and modify XDP/eBPF programs (e.g., packet filtering, traffic analysis)
Requirements:
- Several years of experience as a Linux Embedded Developer
- Strong knowledge of Linux Kernel internals
- Experience with system performance analysis and profiling
- Hands-on experience with tools: perf, top/htop, vmstat/iostat, bpftrace, KernelShark
- Strong experience with Yocto Project (bitbake, poky, layers, bbappend, devtool)
- Solid understanding of embedded Linux systems and cross-compilation
- Experience with eBPF/XDP and Linux networking stack
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
