Job Description
Manager of Corporate Technical Accounting providing technical accounting guidance for corporate functions at Stanley Black & Decker. Overseeing accounting areas and mentoring staff in a remote capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical accounting guidance to corporate functions and business units
- Responsibility for areas like pension, revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, and stock compensation
- Support quarterly close and reporting processes
- Prepare technical accounting position papers, policies and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of current and proposed FASB and SEC reporting pronouncements
- Supervise, mentor and develop assigned staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification required
- 6 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Demonstrated experience with technical accounting research and writing technical memos
