Job Description

Systems engineering manager leading enterprise infrastructure, requirements governance, and validation for Liberty Dental Plan. Developing high-performing teams supporting reliable, secure technology for dental-plan members.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems engineers
  • Provide technical direction, coaching, and career development opportunities
  • Establish team priorities, resource planning, and workload management strategies
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, succession planning, and talent development
  • Oversee development, analysis, allocation, and management of system requirements
  • Ensure requirements traceability through design, implementation, verification, and validation
  • Review and approve requirements documentation and change management activities
  • Identify requirements gaps, conflicts, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Establish requirements-management metrics and best practices
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define enterprise system architectures and technical solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with business objectives, technical requirements, and compliance standards
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making
  • Support system design evaluations and lifecycle risk assessments
  • Lead verification and validation planning and execution
  • Drive practices that improve system reliability, security, performance, and quality
  • Collaborate with quality and testing teams to maintain compliance and audit readiness
  • Monitor verification activities and resolve technical issues and non-conformances
  • Champion continuous improvement and engineering best practices
  • Build partnerships across engineering, technology, and business teams
  • Drive results through strategic planning, data-informed decisions, and effective execution
  • Promote an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team culture
  • Encourage innovation, ownership, and professional growth

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing people, technical teams, or functional groups
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle methodologies
  • Experience with requirements management, verification and validation, systems integration, and risk management
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing systems engineering operations in a mid-sized enterprise environment
  • Strong background in enterprise infrastructure architecture, deployment, and support
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualization platforms
  • Experience supporting Cisco UCS platforms and related infrastructure architecture
  • Knowledge of patch management, vulnerability management, and threat remediation practices
  • Familiarity with configuration management and change control processes
  • Experience with requirements traceability and management tools
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and contact center technologies, including flow design, automation, and reporting
  • Proven success implementing process improvements and operational best practices
  • Must work in the United States; Liberty cannot hire or allow employees to work outside the United States
  • No relocation assistance or sponsorship available
