Job Description

Medical Virtual Assistant supporting a Podiatry Clinic in Arizona with clinical and administrative tasks. Collaborating with a small, dedicated team in a remote work setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review medical transcriptions and finalize physician charts for signature
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals and accurately populate patient charts
  • Handle patient confirmation calls, insurance eligibility verification, and sort incoming faxes
  • Clean up and organize clinical notes
  • Process and manage referrals efficiently
  • Perform outbound and follow-up patient calls
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Sort and categorize incoming medical documents and faxes
  • Upload and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR
  • Send physician orders once documentation has been completed
  • Support other administrative and clinical workflows as needed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, or similar healthcare support role
  • Strong understanding of medical documentation and patient charting
  • Experience processing referrals and insurance eligibility verification
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
  • Comfortable handling both clinical and administrative tasks
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Experience in Podiatry (highly preferred)
  • Orthopedic or surgical clinic experience will also be considered
  • Medical Assistant background preferred
  • RN or other healthcare professional background is a plus but not required
  • Experience using AdvancedMD EMR
  • Experience using Vonage phone system
