Job Description

Mid-Level Java Developer at GDIT delivering software solutions for government clients in an Agile environment. Collaborating with a skilled team to advance software systems and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • The Java Developer conducts or participates in the research, design, development, and testing of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms
  • Responsibilities also include enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software
  • This employee is responsible for coding, testing, integrating, deploying, and documenting software solutions.

Requirements:

  • 3 + years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Server-side software development including configuration of web servers (both IBM/Apache and IIS)
  • Web services implementation (SOAP and REST)
  • SQL database (particularly MS SQL Server) usage
  • XML processing
  • Software development using Java, JUnit, Spring, Hibernate, Log4j, and other libraries using Agile processes (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Tooling including Netbeans, Maven, Git, and Jira
  • Working knowledge of current Software Development Tools and Databases, such as but not limited to Java, C++, .Net, etc.
  • Organizational skills including attention to details and multitasking skills
  • Experience and ability to relate technical issues to management and Government personnel
  • Critical thinking/analytical skills, creativity, and a proven drive for quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
