Job Description
Network Planning Engineer supporting Capgemini’s engineering services through Carrier Ethernet capacity, lifecycle, migration, and decommission planning. Maintaining network audits, infrastructure readiness, databases, and governance reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional planning resources supporting Metro CE and Regional CE planning
- Support NGTT decommission, capacity forecasting, power and rack planning, lifecycle management, network audit, and migration programmes
- Perform Metro and Regional CE planning, engineering plan release, and capacity management
- Conduct capacity forecasting, utilisation monitoring, and augmentation planning
- Plan power, rack space, and infrastructure readiness
- Assess EOL/EOS and plan network refreshes
- Plan network migrations, dependencies, and release coordination
- Plan Carrier Ethernet and legacy decommissioning
- Maintain audit, inventory validation, owner interlock, decommission readiness, and sign-off activities
- Maintain planning databases, trackers, and governance reports
Requirements:
- 4–6 years of experience planning release support for Metro and Regional CE network projects
- Experience with engineering order-included scope-of-work detail planning
- Experience in capacity forecasting, utilisation reporting, augmentation planning, and power/rack infrastructure management
- Experience with audit, lifecycle management, and decommission support for legacy network platforms
- Experience with migration planning, link platform audit and data analysis, dependency planning, and stakeholder interlock with Platform Owners
- Experience with governance, reporting, database/tracker maintenance, material management support, and ad-hoc planning activities
