Job Description
Oncologist helping Mercor and a leading AI lab improve frontier models through oncology clinical-trial expertise. Evaluating AI reasoning and creating realistic medical scenarios.
Responsibilities:
- Create realistic, nuanced oncology tasks and scenarios, particularly involving clinical trials
- Evaluate AI-generated clinical reasoning for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current standard-of-care guidelines
- Identify flawed logic, missed diagnoses, incomplete treatment rationale, and unsafe recommendations in model outputs
- Provide clear, well-structured expert responses and chain-of-thought reasoning reflecting real clinical decision-making
- Maintain high standards of clinical rigor and accuracy
- Complete credential verification for license status, fellowship completion, and current practice
- Collaborate with a leading AI research lab through Mercor to train and enhance frontier AI models
Requirements:
- MD or DO with a completed fellowship in medical oncology or hematology/oncology
- Active, unrestricted US medical license
- Currently practicing in the United States and seeing oncology patients
- 3+ years of post-fellowship experience in the current role strongly preferred
- Active involvement in or direct experience with oncology clinical trials as a PI, sub-investigator, or treating physician
- Deep familiarity with clinical trial protocols and eligibility criteria
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, FDA, and RECIST criteria
- Ability to articulate clinical reasoning clearly and precisely in written form
- Strong attention to detail when evaluating the accuracy and safety of AI-generated medical content
- Must not be a radiation oncologist, surgical oncologist, or oncologist not in clinical practice
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates
