Job Description
Coding Specialist reviewing clinical documentation and assigning codes for outpatient visits in healthcare organizations. Ensuring accurate documentation for billing and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Code Facility Outpatient accounts - Same Day Surgery, Observation, Ancillary, Woundcare Clinic and/or Pain Management records for acute care facilities.
- Abstracts clinical data appropriately.
- Mitigates diagnosis.
- Tolerates short-term assignments for up to two different clients.
- Participates in client and Savista meetings and training sessions as instructed by management.
- Maintains an ongoing current working knowledge of the coding convention in play at client assignments.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- An active AHIMA (American Health Information Association) credential or an active AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) credential
- Two (2) years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience.
- Requires active CCS, CCA, CCS-P, COC, CPC, CPC-A, RHIT or RHIA credential.
- Meditech, Cerner and/or Epic Experience a plus.
