Job Description

Payments Reconciliation Analyst managing and optimizing payment operations with Simetrik for a fintech company. Ensuring data accuracy and identifying process improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain automated reconciliation flows using Simetrik, integrating multiple data sources such as bank files, payment gateway APIs, and internal records.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve transaction exceptions and discrepancies flagged by the platform, ensuring data accuracy and operational continuity.
  • Ensure accounting records match real cash movements, maintaining a single source of truth ready for internal and external audits (e.g. SOC, Basel compliance).
  • Monitor correct fee charging by acquirers and payment processors to detect revenue leakage and prevent financial losses.
  • Generate reports and dashboards providing visibility into cash flow by payment method and currency.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Payments, Risk, and external providers to ensure smooth end-to-end payment operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, standardization, and continuous improvement within payment operations.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Payment Operations, Reconciliations, or Fintech Operations roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Simetrik (reconciliation rules, matching keys, tolerances, and mappings).
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Solid understanding of the payments ecosystem: acquiring, card networks, payment gateways, bank reconciliation, and settlement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple reconciliation flows simultaneously.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or experience working with large datasets / Big Data tools (Nice to have).
  • Experience working in regulated financial environments (Nice to have).
  • Previous exposure to audit processes or compliance frameworks (Nice to have).
  • Experience collaborating with international or cross-functional teams (Nice to have).
