Job Description
Physician Coder Specialist handling coding for Interventional Radiology services. Responsible for accurate diagnosis and procedure coding to ensure reimbursement compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and accurately coding professional services
- Ensures receipt of accurate reimbursement according to guidelines
- Assigning ICD-10, CPT and/or HCPCS codes
- Ensuring data integrity of coded patient records
- Collaborating with team members to meet departmental goals
- Communicating with providers for clarification
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of coding experience
- Recognized Certification by the AHIMA or AAPC
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry
- Proficient with Windows-style applications
- Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and coding principles
