Job Description
Plumbing engineer performing remedial repairs, water testing, and compliance reporting. SMS Environmental protects UK water systems and environmental safety.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out plumbing works safely and efficiently, following SMS Method Statements
- Undertake water testing, sampling, and tank disinfection alongside Water Treatment Engineers
- Identify non-compliances and report system conditions to Account Managers
- Use Opuz software and a company iPad to complete accurate reports
- Support the development of new plumbers and share knowledge
- Uphold high health and safety standards across every task
- Complete remedial and reactive plumbing tasks independently and collaboratively
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plumbing
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Willing to travel, including occasional travel to London
- Minimum 2 years’ plumbing experience, ideally within the water hygiene industry
- Confidence working independently and safely on-site
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Basic IT knowledge, including using iPads and digital reporting tools
- Ability to pass Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (Enhanced DBS check)
- Experience in commercial or domestic environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of legionella control is advantageous
