Job Description

Principal Full Stack Engineer designing AI-driven telemetry systems for innovative IoT and AI platforms. Collaborating on backend services and leading technical projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement backend services that ingest, normalize, and persist high-volume telemetry using event-driven and MQTT-based pipelines.
  • Implement secure authentication and bi-directional communication for commands and diagnostics, designed for intermittent connectivity.
  • Integrate edge AI outputs (range prediction, health monitoring) into cloud services and surface them explainably in a Fleet Portal UI.
  • Architect robust MQTT communication protocols for data exchange between the eAPU and various external devices/cloud services.
  • Act as the technical "right-hand" to the leadership team, making pragmatic trade-offs between speed, reliability, and simplicity.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with clear ownership of production systems.
  • Expert proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with MQTT, pub/sub patterns, and device telemetry pipelines.
  • Strong experience with AWS (or other clouds), cloud-native microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with time-series data, relational databases, and telemetry-heavy models.
  • Strong understanding of data consistency, failure modes, and scalable backend platforms.
  • Experience with hardware-adjacent systems (smart homes, automotive, or mobile IoT).
  • Ability to reason about and manage specifics including: Main SoC: Dual-core RISC-V (up to 400 MHz).
  • Knowledge of ESP-IDF (Espressif) and LVGL for front-end screen development.
  • Experience with J1939/CAN or NMEA 2000.
  • Experience with neural network math, LSTM reasoning, and operationalizing AI/ML outputs (federated learning, shadow models).

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
