Job Description

Principal Software Tester automating UI and API testing for SAIC, a defense and mission technology integrator. Building Playwright frameworks, validating services, and improving CI/CD quality practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases aligned to business and technical requirements
  • Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to design test coverage
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain UI automated test scripts and frameworks using Playwright
  • Identify stable web elements and build resilient automated tests for dynamic web interfaces
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain API test scripts to validate service functionality, integration, and data flows
  • Report, track, and verify defects
  • Provide test documentation, metrics, and status reporting to support stakeholder visibility and decision-making
  • Apply test automation fundamentals within CI/CD pipelines to support regression coverage and release quality
  • Define and advance test engineering practices, testing standards, and consistent quality processes across scrum teams
  • Share testing best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 9+ years of experience; or Master's degree and 5+ years of experience
  • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens
  • Candidates must have the ability to get a public trust clearance
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing
  • Experience providing clear test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders
  • Practical use and experience with Selenium, Jira, Playwright, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) desired
  • Knowledge of Python, Java, or JavaScript is a plus
  • Awareness of GitLab for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or DevOps methodologies
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)
  • Experience testing APIs and Web Services
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes and translate them into technical requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented and well organized
  • Able to work independently or as a contributing team member
