Job Description
Principal procurement specialist sourcing and managing strategic suppliers for Northrop Grumman’s defense systems. Handling government procurement, contracts, negotiations, compliance, and supplier performance.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure specialized goods and services using Defense Systems Principles and Operating Practices (DS PrOP)
- Coordinate and collaborate with contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, and program stakeholders
- Own contractual management for suppliers and procurements
- Manage purchase order performance and ensure compliance with public law, company policies, and import/export regulations
- Develop and review procurement specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions
- Prepare bid packages, conduct bidders’ conferences, evaluate proposals, negotiate provisions, select or recommend suppliers, write awards, and administer contracts
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality, reliability, and delivery capability with the quality organization
- Assess supplier performance and employ sound business practices
- Provide documentation to logistics, transportation, and warehouse organizations for proper receipt recording
- Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers
- Identify cost-reduction, efficiency, and risk-management opportunities through negotiations and continuous improvement
- Represent the organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects
- Work 100% remotely with limited travel to local United States locations (10% travel)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 5 years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree in business or related field and 3 years of related experience
- US Government Procurement Experience (FAR/DFAR)
- Experience interfacing/collaborating with programs and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain
- Experience with ERP systems, Costpoint or SAP
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, with strong emphasis on Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
- U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite
- Maintenance, Repairs & Operations category and supplier knowledge preferred
- Experience with Long Term Pricing Agreements and Blanket Purchase Orders preferred
