Job Description

Remote Robotic Automation Engineer deploying robotic laboratory systems for life science and pharmaceutical customers. Integrating robots, instruments, scheduling software, databases, and code across regional customer sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end commissioning of standard systems integrating robots, laboratory instruments, and CellarioScheduler
  • Modify and troubleshoot CellarioScheduler workflows and resolve scheduler, robot, and third-party instrument integration issues
  • Verify hardware, software, and integration deliverables against acceptance criteria
  • Commission complex systems with guidance from senior engineers
  • Execute Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing
  • Configure and troubleshoot automation hardware and integrated devices through firmware operations and device-level diagnostics
  • Interpret, integrate, and debug C# and Python code
  • Configure relational databases using SQL
  • Configure and operate SCARA and articulated robotic arms
  • Contribute to multi-system deployments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Train customer teams on hardware operation and software applications
  • Manage customer relationships and address concerns throughout project lifecycles
  • Communicate project status, technical topics, and roadblocks to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Share knowledge of tools, platforms, and processes with teammates

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree and 4+ years; or Master's degree and 1+ years
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, or supporting laboratory automation or industrial robotics systems
  • Experience with laboratory automation scheduling software such as CellarioScheduler, Green Button Go, Momentum, Overlord, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in code interpretation and software principles, including object-oriented programming (C# or similar)
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting and configuration skills
  • Ability to travel up to and sometimes exceeding 40% annually, domestically and internationally
  • Current driver's license and valid passport
  • Reliable personal transportation for regional travel
  • Comfortable working in laboratory and technical environments
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Preferred: laboratory instrumentation integration experience
  • Preferred: SCARA or articulated robotic arm experience
  • Preferred: SQL and relational database configuration experience
  • Preferred: Python scripting experience
  • Preferred: networking concepts and components knowledge
  • Preferred: firmware-level device configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • Preferred: customer-facing technical delivery experience
  • Preferred: complex or multi-system automation environment exposure
  • Preferred: Jira and Confluence experience
  • Preferred: organizational and project management abilities
