Job Description

Remote BENELUX Sales Manager growing phosphate and specialty ingredient sales for food and pet food manufacturers. Managing technical trials, customer relationships, negotiations, and regional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy for specialty food ingredients across the BENELUX countries
  • Identify and qualify prospects among pet food manufacturers and human food processors
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline
  • Deliver technical presentations and conduct on-site or virtual product trials
  • Collaborate with R&D to adapt formulations, drive innovation, and support new product development
  • Manage pricing negotiations, contract proposals, and order forecasting
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes
  • Translate market and regulatory insights into actionable plans
  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation and product specification through commercial close
  • Serve as the technical representative, translating ingredient science into customer value propositions

Requirements:

  • Please apply only if you have a good network in the BENELUX Food and Pet Food industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science or related discipline, or Master Butcher
  • Minimum of 5 years’ technical sales or application support experience in the food ingredients industry
  • Experience working for a producer or distributor
  • Demonstrated success selling functional ingredients, including phosphates, hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, acids, proteins, fibres, or yeast
  • Deep understanding of ingredient functionality in meat processing, spice formulation, baking, and potato applications
  • Ability to engage R&D, production, and procurement stakeholders
  • Ability to manage a remote sales territory, including self-motivation, strong organization, and virtual collaboration
  • Willingness to travel 30–40% for customer visits, industry events, and cross-functional meetings
  • Fluency in German and English; additional language skills are a plus
  • Knowledge or background in technology is an asset
