Job Description
Senior Accountant managing GAAP reporting for Teton Ridge, a Western sports and entertainment company. Supporting close, audits, controls, cost management, and financial insights across business units.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations under the guidance of the Accounting Manager
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud
- Support the audit process
- Monitor and manage operational costs to optimize profitability
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances
- Support accounting process improvements
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and its practical application to month-end and year-end close processes
- Understanding of accounting principles related to journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks in a lean, resource-constrained environment
- Knowledge of accounting systems and ERP/general ledger software
- Openness to leveraging AI tools and automation as a complement to accounting judgment
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies in financial data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines across shifting priorities
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and own tasks with minimal oversight
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and adjust to evolving priorities and business needs
- CPA certification or currently working toward CPA certification, or equivalent
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
