Job Description

Senior Accountant managing GAAP reporting for Teton Ridge, a Western sports and entertainment company. Supporting close, audits, controls, cost management, and financial insights across business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations under the guidance of the Accounting Manager
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud
  • Support the audit process
  • Monitor and manage operational costs to optimize profitability
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances
  • Support accounting process improvements

Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and its practical application to month-end and year-end close processes
  • Understanding of accounting principles related to journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks in a lean, resource-constrained environment
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and ERP/general ledger software
  • Openness to leveraging AI tools and automation as a complement to accounting judgment
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies in financial data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines across shifting priorities
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and own tasks with minimal oversight
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity and adjust to evolving priorities and business needs
  • CPA certification or currently working toward CPA certification, or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
