Job Description
Senior Accounting Specialist serving as the accounting lead for complex client accounts at Uplinq. Managing financial reporting and mentoring junior team members in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own month-end close and financial reporting for complex client accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Uplinq’s proprietary accounting system
- Prepare and document advanced journal entries
- Handle job costing, inventory tracking, and class/location-based reporting as needed
- Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations
- Build and maintain client-specific SOPs, documentation, and QBO workflows
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients—leading calls, owning relationships, and resolving escalations
- Review junior team members’ work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Requirements:
- 5+ years of small business or firm-based accounting experience
- Advanced Knowledge in QuickBooks Online
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles
- Experience with job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting
- Skilled in managing third-party integrations
- Documentation and workflow mapping abilities
- Confident communicator who can lead client meetings and explain financials clearly
