Job Description
Senior CX Engineer building Amazon Connect and AWS customer experience solutions for Contacx. Leading full-stack delivery, AI workflows, and New Zealand client architecture remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of cloud-native customer experience solutions on Amazon Connect and AWS
- Design, build, and optimize scalable CX solutions using Amazon Connect, WebRTC, SIP, and AWS technologies
- Architect and implement server-side APIs, microservices, and automated workflows using TypeScript and modern languages
- Drive front-end and web technology integrations for multi-channel customer engagement tools
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into enterprise-grade CX architectures
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex networking and telephony issues
- Establish engineering standards, code review practices, and continuous delivery pipelines in an agile environment
- Implement AI-powered interactions, generative AI solutions, and advanced automation
- Explore modern execution environments and systems languages such as Rust
- Progress toward becoming Contacx's first New Zealand squad leader, overseeing NZ clients and contributing to ANZ leadership and company strategy
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience in software development or cloud engineering
- Demonstrated full-stack development skills
- Experience with real-time communications or CCaaS deployments
- Advanced expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, web technologies, and REST API development
- Experience with Python or Golang
- In-depth understanding of enterprise networking: TCP, IP routing, NAT, DNS
- Knowledge of SIP and WebRTC
- Deep hands-on experience with Amazon Connect and AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Lex, and Amazon Bedrock
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant AWS certifications are highly regarded
