Job Description
Senior cloud security analyst engineering controls and defenses for GDIT, a technology and professional services provider to government and defense customers. Supporting CMS security operations, compliance, and Zero Trust initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls aligned with organizational policies and federal standards
- Engineer solutions protecting cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
- Deploy and manage SIEM, vulnerability scanners, EDR, and identity protection technologies
- Support architecture reviews for new technologies and applications
- Analyze security events and collaborate with SOC teams to streamline detection and response
- Lead vulnerability remediation with infrastructure and application teams
- Develop automation for security processes and control enforcement
- Contribute to Zero Trust architecture, access management, and segmentation strategies
- Produce system designs, standards, runbooks, and configuration baselines
- Support compliance audits, risk assessments, and control validation
- Evaluate security technologies and recommend adoption
- Support CMS activities
- Potentially provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Help Desk support teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or related disciplines
- Strong understanding of network security, identity management, cloud security, and endpoint protection
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, vulnerability management tools, and security monitoring solutions
- Familiarity with NIST, CIS, Zero Trust, and other security frameworks
- Ability to write technical documentation and communicate security concepts clearly
- Experience scripting or automating tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
- Security certification such as CISSP or CISA
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Ability to interpret logged security events
- Experience with vulnerability scanning applications and interpreting results
- Experience with Fortigate Firewall, application scanning, and endpoint protection
- Hands-on experience with AWS Config, CloudTrail/CloudWatch, Systems Manager, Route 53, CloudFront, and CloudFormation
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause identification
- US citizenship is not required
- Travel required: less than 10%
