Job Description

Senior Data Analyst modernizing FP&A reporting, data pipelines, and AI automation for Welo Global’s multilingual AI and content solutions. Building investigative analytics and self-refreshing reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with FP&A leadership to understand and fundamentally improve reporting, analytical, and planning processes
  • Reverse-engineer complex Excel workbooks and manual processes, including data sources, business logic, calculations, and user needs
  • Design and build automated solutions using SQL, Python, ETL/data transformation, APIs, and modern AI tools
  • Resolve data quality, mapping, reconciliation, and grain issues across large, imperfect, multi-system datasets
  • Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, relationships, and underlying business drivers
  • Design dashboards and reporting experiences around business decisions
  • Build AI-assisted interactive HTML reporting tools that refresh efficiently without repeated AI calls
  • Develop driver-based analysis, exception reporting, and monitoring approaches
  • Explore and build AI-assisted and agentic workflows involving LLMs, data, tools, APIs, and reporting processes
  • Partner with Data Analytics and Data Engineering teams on shared infrastructure, standards, data pipelines, and data marts
  • Contribute leadership, mentor by example, and help establish analytical rigor
  • Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for Finance leaders and business stakeholders
  • Help build and shape the FP&A AI repository, including documentation, conventions, and reliable workflows for AI assistants
  • Report directly to the FP&A Director and work closely with central Data Analytics and Data Engineering teams

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience required
  • Strong SQL skills, including joining tables, tracing grain, finding duplicates, and validating results in unfamiliar schemas
  • Practical proficiency in Python for data transformation, analysis, and automation
  • Strong ETL/ELT fluency, including defining data requirements, validating output, and partnering with Data Engineering
  • End-to-end report and dashboard building experience using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or standalone interactive HTML/web-based reports
  • Demonstrated experience automating manual, recurring data or reporting workflows
  • Comfort learning and adopting new AI-assisted tools and workflows
  • Advanced Excel skills, including deconstructing sophisticated, undocumented legacy workbooks
  • Ability to explore data and form and test hypotheses to determine why something happened
  • Fluent English, spoken and written
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative/technical field strongly preferred; equivalent experience acceptable
  • Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, Strategy, Operations, or another analytically intensive business function preferred
  • Familiarity with revenue, margin, profitability, forecasting, and variance analysis preferred
  • Experience modernizing legacy Excel-based reporting or analytical processes preferred
  • Experience working with data distributed across multiple systems preferred
  • Experience working effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment preferred
  • Exposure to AI/agentic tooling or applying AI to business processes preferred
  • Machine learning, statistical modeling, or formal data science experience welcome but not required
