Job Description

Remote Senior Data & Business Analytics Manager leading SummitStone Health Partners’ healthcare data platforms, BI, governance, and analytics teams. Driving trusted insights for clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization's data platform strategy and operations
  • Oversee the data warehouse/lakehouse environment and ensure scalable, reliable, cost-effective architecture and operations
  • Direct development and maintenance of data pipelines and integrations across clinical, operational, financial, human resources, and external data sources
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data models, semantic layers, and standardized metric definitions
  • Establish standards for development, testing, deployment, version control, code review, and platform governance
  • Monitor data pipeline health, system performance, data freshness, and issue resolution
  • Oversee executive dashboards, operational reporting, and enterprise analytics solutions
  • Maintain catalogs of key performance indicators, business definitions, data lineage, and reporting ownership
  • Partner with operational, clinical, financial, quality, revenue cycle, and human resources leaders
  • Ensure regulatory, payer, quality, and governing board reporting is accurate and timely
  • Establish data governance and privacy controls for data quality, security, privacy, role-based access, lineage, and compliance
  • Oversee data quality monitoring, issue resolution, and system-of-record management
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain data engineering and business intelligence professionals
  • Establish intake, prioritization, and resource management processes for analytics initiatives
  • Manage vendor relationships, technology investments, licensing, budgets, and system selection and implementation efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, health informatics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence
  • 10+ years directly managing technical staff
  • Advanced SQL
  • Demonstrated ownership of a production data warehouse or lakehouse
  • Hands-on experience with a modern transformation or orchestration stack, such as dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or comparable tools
  • Production experience with an enterprise BI platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik, including governance and workspace administration
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements as applied to analytic data
  • Track record of delivering reporting that changed an operational or financial outcome
  • Valid Colorado driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record
  • Preferred: healthcare experience with EHR reporting data, such as Epic Clarity and Caboodle, Oracle Health, Meditech, or athenahealth
  • Preferred: familiarity with revenue cycle metrics such as denials, days in AR, charge lag, and net collection rate
  • Preferred: experience with quality and value-based care reporting, including HEDIS, MIPS, or CMS star ratings
  • Preferred: cloud platform experience in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud with associated data services
  • Preferred: Python or comparable scripting for pipeline and automation work
  • Preferred: experience with master data management, provider and location hierarchies, or patient matching
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred
