Job Description

Fractional Sr. DevRel Engineer creating technical content and engaging with the developer community for Tonic.ai. Collaborating across teams to translate platform capabilities into strategic business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Create "Peer-to-Peer" Content: Author sophisticated whitepapers, architectural deep dives, and opinionated blog posts that speak directly to Staff Engineers and VPs of Engineering.
  • Narrative Design: Translate Tonic’s platform capabilities into strategic business outcomes (e.g., "How synthetic data solves the staging environment bottleneck"), moving beyond "how-to" guides into "why-this-matters" strategy.
  • Video & Multimedia: Leverage AI tools to rapidly turn your technical insights into short-form video content for LinkedIn and YouTube that cuts through the noise.
  • Content Strategy: Partner with Product and Engineering to identify and bridge content gaps, ensuring our narrative addresses the complexities of the Enterprise SDLC.
  • Community Participation: Participate in relevant developer communities and forums to meet technical leaders where they already spend time.
  • Content Distribution & Reach: Share high-impact content across channels developers use (LinkedIn, X, Reddit, YouTube, Discord, GitHub, etc.) to drive authentic distribution and engagement.
  • Product & Engineering Alignment: Work with Engineering and Product Marketing to understand and translate upcoming capabilities.
  • Sales & Outreach Review: Review and refine SDR outreach sequences and sales decks to ensure they sound like they were written *by* an engineer, *for* an engineer.
  • Marketing Sanity Check: Act as a sanity check for Marketing campaigns, ensuring our messaging resonates with a skeptical technical audience before it goes live.
  • Feedback Loop: Provide developer and industry feedback to Product teams to help shape the roadmap.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background, ideally having served as a Staff Engineer, Software Architect, or Technical Lead within an Enterprise environment.
  • Deep understanding of how technical leaders evaluate software and build internal business cases for new tools.
  • Proven experience building developer-facing content with a strong narrative arc and technical depth.
  • A love for technical writing; you enjoy the challenge of translating complex engineering facts into compelling, value-driven stories.
  • Comfort presenting in webinars, meetups, or videos.
  • A visible online presence and a track record of engaging with the broader developer community.

Benefits:

  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development
