Job Description
Senior engineer building secure Azure cloud applications and AI capabilities for First American Trust, a financial services provider. Developing full-stack systems, LLM integrations, RAG solutions, and intelligent automation with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable applications in an Azure cloud environment
- Build full-stack solutions using Python, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, and microservice architectures
- Modify and enhance existing applications through coding and pull request reviews
- Design and integrate AI-powered capabilities including LLM integrations, RAG, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation
- Maintain AI orchestration and inference pipelines for performance, cost efficiency, observability, and responsible usage
- Apply testing, monitoring, CI/CD, observability, and secure SDLC practices to production systems
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks and use AI-assisted development tools
- Ensure data privacy, security, governance, and compliance for AI-enabled functionality
- Define and prioritize goals and tasks in an agile product environment
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and stakeholders on design, production troubleshooting, and durable solutions
- Mentor engineers on software engineering, cloud-native architecture, and AI integration patterns
- Propose solutions to complex problems, build consensus, and influence technical direction
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software development experience using Python and building cloud-native applications in Azure
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and application architecture
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL
- Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and modern software development best practices
- Experience integrating AI capabilities including Azure OpenAI, LLMs, RAG, or vector databases
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms
- Experience with application observability using OpenTelemetry
- Docker and Kubernetes experience preferred
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or willingness to learn it
