Job Description
Senior Cloud Systems Architect providing technical leadership for large-scale migrations to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Collaborating with stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure secure and efficient migration strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for a large-scale cloud migration initiative.
- Develop the overall architectural strategy for migrating on-premises workloads and applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers on cloud solutions.
- Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for migrating enterprise workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Architect end-to-end cloud solutions, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and integration components.
- Lead the assessment of existing systems and develop comprehensive roadmaps and migration strategies.
- Ensure cloud architecture incorporates security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to guide migration of complex business applications.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption.
- Serve as a mentor and technical authority for engineering teams.
- Maintain comprehensive architectural and process documentation and communicate technical information effectively.
Requirements:
- US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of IT experience, including strong recent experience architecting Oracle solutions and leading cloud migration projects.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions at enterprise scale.
- Deep knowledge of networking, security, identity management, and governance in cloud environments.
- Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
- Outstanding analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Oracle Cloud certification(s) strongly preferred (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional).
- Track record of architecting and leading successful large-scale cloud migrations.
- Experience with DoD/Army enterprise applications
- Hands-on experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
- Expertise in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Exadata, Oracle Autonomous Database, and Oracle PeopleSoft migrations.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps methodologies, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Deep understanding of database migration strategies and tools (e.g., Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate).
- Experience with Operations and Maintenance of cloud and hybrid enterprise systems.
