Job Description
Senior Software QA Engineer (SDET) promoting quality assurance for AI-powered security solutions at Swimlane. Involved in defining test strategies and maintaining high software quality in an agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide thought leadership and a strong quality mindset throughout the product development process.
- Operate in an agile environment to assess project readiness, influence testability, and ensure robust test development, system reliability, performance, and quality.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Developers, QA, and other technology experts to define test plans, strategies, and approaches for complex enterprise applications.
- Drive projects to completion by creating robust quality plans, managing risks, enhancing test coverage, and integrating tests with CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality and early defect detection.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of automated test frameworks and scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Conduct performance and security testing to ensure applications meet scalability and security standards.
- Advocate for end-users by ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed, and interact with customers to enhance understanding of their use-cases.
- Mentor QA team members in implementing effective QA strategies, promoting best practices in risk management, automation and testing.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software testing and QA, aiming to improve testing processes and enhance the engineering team’s overall efficiency and delivery effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
- 10+ years of experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Extensive experience with creating and executing software QA plans for complex, high-volume, event-based systems, especially those involving hundreds to thousands transactions per day
- Experience in reviewing product requirements, architecture and design principles to improve application behavior and system performance
- Expertise in functional and non-functional testing types, including system, integration, scale, HA and reliability
- Proficient at least one programming language, such as Java
- Familiarity with setting up and managing test environments on cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS
- Strong understanding of QA, CICD and DevOps methodologies and tools, especially related to AWS
- Experience with cloud-native monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus
- Proficiency with automation tools/frameworks such as TestNG, Junit, Cypress, Karate, Playwright, JMeter
- Proven record of strong leadership, communication, team development, problem solving and organization skills
- Self-starter, self-managed individual who can work independently and quickly adjust to changing priorities
- Business and technical background in cybersecurity and security automation/orchestration is a strong plus.
