Job Description

Sr. Software/Applications Developer supporting Command and Control systems for U.S. Coast Guard. Involves system engineering and software development with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the supported systems of the C5ISC
  • Provides services including system engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, network engineering, test engineering, electronic engineering, and technical writing.
  • Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software using multiple software development methodologies including Agile.
  • Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
  • Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
  • Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
  • Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Acts as task leader on projects.
  • Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on the development team.
  • Participates in development of software user manuals.

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years applications development experience using programming languages (e.g. Rails, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, .NET, and Java etc.)
  • A current Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification is required.
  • Additional specific information assurance certification requirements may be required at the task order level.
  • Requires an active DoD security clearance and must be a U.S. citizen.
