Job Description
Senior Software Engineer building Culture Biosciences’ cloud bioprocessing platform. Developing full-stack features, emulators, and automated testing for scientific hardware and workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Build a single-box emulator of the full hardware and software stack for release testing and future customer in-silico validation
- Shape testing for hardware-in-the-loop systems, from unit coverage to end-to-end runs against real and simulated instruments
- Define verification, traceability, and documentation practices for software changes toward regulated environments
- Design and build features for Console, the cloud-based bioprocess management software
- Partner with software, hardware, and scientific teams to translate bioprocessing and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to strong software development practices across the team
- Learn about biotechnology and bioprocess development
Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Prior experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test, Test Infrastructure Engineer, or in a similar automation-focused role
- Experience working on and scaling full-stack applications, including frontend development and backend service design
- Product-focused approach and consideration of end-user perspectives
- Technical rigor
- Preferred: Experience with simulators, emulators, or hardware-in-the-loop test harnesses
- Preferred: Experience shipping software in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, pharma, biopharma, or petrochemical
- Preferred: Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps background
- Preferred: Strong interest in life sciences or biotechnology
