Job Description

Senior Software Engineer working on one of the world's largest social media platforms. Working in R&D to solve technical challenges in a challenging, innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain tasks from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), prepares functional and design specifications, and approves them with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that assigned area/areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
  • Update and optimize local and metadata models.
  • Evaluate implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize data systems.
  • Understand the business drivers and analytical use-cases and translate these to data products.
  • Initiate and conduct code reviews, create code standards, conventions, and guidelines.
  • Suggest technical and functional improvements to add value to the product.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Full stack Software Engineer, FE - JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, particularly React and BE - Python with Fast API/Flask or similar.
  • Proven experience in user support, including implementing complex Java-based components and deploying them to production services with minimal guidance from senior engineers.
  • Proactive learner with the ability to follow a runbook, aiming to resolve 70% of user issues during business hours support rotation.
  • Must have experience doing channel support and answer questions regarding service SLO.
  • Experience in Node.js, AWS, K8S and Docker is good to have.
