Job Description
Senior Software Engineer embedding AI tools into Lyra Health’s mental healthcare workflows. Building agentic solutions that reduce repetitive work and improve measurable operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Embed with internal teams across the company to map workflows, identify bottlenecks, and scope AI-driven solutions with measurable efficiency outcomes
- Own the full lifecycle from discovery and prototyping through deployment, adoption, measurement, and iteration
- Build and improve AI-powered tools, agents, and automations integrating with Python and Java-based microservices, web and mobile apps, and third-party systems
- Drive integration and adoption of agentic software development across engineering
- Evaluate emerging AI tools, models, and patterns; run experiments and turn successful approaches into internal capabilities
- Define and track impact metrics including time saved, throughput, quality, and cost
- Communicate results to stakeholders and leadership
- Collaboratively create and refine technical designs and solutions with engineering team members
- Collaborate with data science, product management, design, security, operational, and behavioral health teams
- Promote software development best practices and quality and security standards, including responsible handling of sensitive data in AI workflows
Requirements:
- BS in CS or related technical field
- 6+ years of experience developing enterprise or consumer web applications, ideally using Python or Java/Spring
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production, including agentic tools and frameworks, prompt and context engineering, evals, and development workflows using Claude and Codex
- Ability to work directly with non-engineering stakeholders, elicit requirements, translate ambiguous business problems into shipped software, and drive adoption
- Strong judgment about where AI genuinely helps versus where it adds risk or noise, especially in a healthcare context
- Highly proactive and a self-starter with ability to operate autonomously
- Ability to contribute across design, product, front-end, back-end, and quality
