Job Description

Senior Staff Engineer specializing in Quality Engineering and Test Automation at a Digital Product Engineering company. Focus on Playwright and AI-driven testing approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks (UI/E2E)
  • Design and execute API, integration, and contract tests
  • Drive Shift-Left testing and automation strategy
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for faster releases
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to validate business logic and system behavior
  • Implement and support AI-driven testing approaches (GenAI, agent workflows, prompt-based automation)
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of applications
  • Implement monitoring and observability practices (e.g., New Relic)
  • Support UAT, release cycles, and production rollouts
  • Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and quality standards
  • Collaborate across teams in complex enterprise environments with evolving requirements

Requirements:

  • Total experience 7.5+ years
  • Strong experience in Quality Engineering / Test Automation (UI, API, Integration)
  • Expertise in Python (Expert) and Playwright with Java (Must Have)
  • Hands-on experience in API Testing (REST APIs – Expert)
  • Experience working with microservices architecture and distributed systems
  • Practical exposure to AI Agents and GenAI / LLM-based tools (e.g., Copilot, prompt-driven automation)
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) and version control (Git)
  • Familiarity with test management tools (QMetry preferred; others acceptable)
  • Experience working with Jira for test management, defect tracking, and release workflows
  • Understanding of Agile, BDD, TDD, and Shift-Left testing practices
  • Knowledge of contract testing (Pact.io – Good to Have)
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., New Relic – Good to Have)
  • Good understanding of performance testing and high-traffic systems
  • Ability to work on enterprise platforms (not just greenfield systems)
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
