Job Description

Senior Technical Consultant working on OpenText Documentum solutions for clients in North America. Leading technical projects and collaborating with teams to deliver enterprise-scale ECM solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead on client projects, owning the end-to-end delivery of OpenText / Documentum solutions from design through implementation.
  • Actively contribute to pre-sales activities — engaging clients, understanding their needs, and shaping winning proposals and solution designs.
  • Define and produce high-level and low-level technical designs that meet the highest standards of quality and scalability.
  • Translate functional requirements into clear technical analyses and architectures.
  • Lead and mentor internal and contract technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, challenging stakeholders where appropriate and recommending the most future-proof solutions based on your expertise.
  • Share your vision on Enterprise Content Management with clients and colleagues, helping to elevate the practice across the organization.
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.

Requirements:

  • Deep OpenText / Documentum Expertise:
  • Substantial hands-on experience with Documentum Webtop and D2
  • Strong knowledge of DQL (Documentum Query Language) and the Documentum object model
  • Proficiency in D2 configuration and customization
  • Knowledge of D2/Smart View is a strong asset
  • Solid knowledge of OpenText Documentum platform integrations
  • Familiarity with OpenText xECM platform and integrations is a plus
  • Technical Excellence:
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or .NET for custom development
  • Experience with SQL and database management (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres)
  • Familiarity with cloud deployments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for ECM workloads
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Broader knowledge of the OpenText Documentum product suite and additional OpenText tools is a plus — the more you know, the more impact you'll have
  • Architecture mindset: A sharp eye for system integration, with the ability to deliver solutions that are both technically sound and aligned to client needs.
  • Leadership and collaboration: Proven experience leading technical teams, motivating colleagues, and driving projects to successful outcomes — comfortable operating both as a hands-on contributor and a team leader.
  • Client-facing confidence: Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solver: You think in solutions, not just problems, able to anticipate challenges and address them before they escalate.

Benefits:

  • Join one of the best companies to work for, recognized as a Great Place to Work®, with a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative team environment.
  • A people-first culture that values achievement, recognition, and genuine work-life balance.
  • A remote-friendly environment designed to support flexibility, autonomy, and employee well-being.
  • A strong focus on training, coaching, and career development — we invest in your growth and long-term success.
  • The opportunity to work on high-impact, large-scale projects across a wide range of industries.
  • Collaborate with talented professionals across the U.S., Canada, and Europe in a truly international environment.
  • Access to leading tools, platforms, and technologies that empower you to deliver your best work.
  • A competitive salary package with comprehensive benefits.
  • Generous pension / retirement contribution program.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and wellness benefits.
  • PTO starting from day one.
  • Six additional personal and sick days to support your health and well-being.
  • Five paid days off during the Christmas holidays to fully enjoy the festive season.
  • For Independent Contractors
  • Competitive contract rates commensurate with your experience.
  • Flexible engagement terms — project-based or ongoing retainer arrangements.
  • The opportunity to work on high-impact, enterprise-scale projects with marquee clients.
  • A collaborative team environment where your expertise is genuinely valued.
