Job Description

Senior Test Automation Engineer building automated testing platforms for JetBrains’ TeamCity developer infrastructure. Improving CI/CD, test reliability, failure triage, and developer workflows with AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the automated testing platform behind TeamCity
  • Build frameworks, infrastructure, reporting, and CI/CD chains
  • Identify and fix slow, manual, or fragile engineering processes at their root
  • Integrate AI into quality workflows for guarded test generation, automated failure triage, and self-healing tests
  • Help product teams write and own tests, review contributions, and promote solid test design
  • Investigate test and product-code failures and flakiness through resolution
  • Participate in all stages of product development from design through release
  • Collaborate with internal and external users and lead technical direction for TeamCity quality
  • Transform quality infrastructure into a fast, reliable platform that reduces manual release work and improves developer feedback

Requirements:

  • Advanced skills in Kotlin or Java
  • Solid grasp of object-oriented design and design patterns
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation for complex, mission-critical backends, web services, or desktop applications
  • Proficiency with TestNG or JUnit
  • Proficiency with Selenium WebDriver, Selenide, or Playwright
  • Experience with Gradle or Maven
  • Experience with Docker or Podman
  • Experience with Allure
  • Command of Git
  • Understanding of software testing principles and concurrent programming concepts
  • Proven track record creating internal platform tools or developer-experience improvements that measurably speed up engineering workflows
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Strong architectural judgment and clean, maintainable code practices
  • Practical curiosity about AI and judgment about its applications
  • Ability to work independently without formal specifications
  • Clear, direct communication skills and initiative to improve team practices
  • Interest in mentoring colleagues, setting technical standards, and sharing knowledge
