Job Description
Senior WordPress Developer building high-traffic multilingual sites for Intetics, a custom software development company. Developing themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, APIs, and performance improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks across high-traffic, multilingual WordPress sites
- Develop and maintain libraries, block collections, Composer packages, and tooling that accelerate delivery across teams
- Refactor legacy code, optimize queries and caching, and improve Core Web Vitals metrics
- Build and consume REST APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD improvements, and engineering standards initiatives
- Collaborate with product, marketing, SEO, content, and QA teams on features and site improvements
- Document technical decisions and contribute to engineering best practices
- Ensure software development best practices and timely product delivery
Requirements:
- 5+ years of WordPress development experience
- Strong Object-Oriented PHP (8.x) skills
- Experience with namespaces, PSR standards, and Composer
- Deep knowledge of WordPress Core APIs
- Strong understanding of hooks, custom post types, taxonomies, WP_Query, and metadata APIs
- Experience with ACF Pro and native custom fields
- Solid production experience building Gutenberg blocks
- React and JSX development experience
- Experience with block.json and @wordpress/scripts
- Strong modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience with Webpack or Vite
- Modern CSS development (Sass, PostCSS)
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- Experience creating custom WordPress REST endpoints
- Strong understanding of WordPress security best practices
- Experience with sanitization, escaping, nonces, and user capabilities
- WordPress performance optimization expertise
- Object caching and query optimization experience
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in AI-assisted development environments (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
- Good written and spoken English
