Job Description
Software Developer III focused on technical ownership and domain evolution at Voltz, a fintech company in Brazil. Lead technical planning and incident response while enhancing team skills.
Responsibilities:
- Be the technical owner of a domain or subsystem, ensuring its safe and healthy evolution over time.
- Ensure the domain operates with agreed SLOs (latency/errors/availability) and actively work to improve reliability.
- Lead technical planning and execution for the domain: decomposition, dependencies, risks, execution and validation.
- Consistently raise the team's technical level: best practices, strong code reviews, references, documentation and standards.
- Serve as an internal technical reference: support complex decisions, unblock discussions and reduce rework.
- Lead incident response for your domain: mitigation, rigorous RCA and structured preventive actions.
Requirements:
- TypeScript + Node.js (async/await, promises, error handling; event loop, streams and concurrency).
- REST API development with OpenAPI (contracts, validation and status codes).
- SQL (Postgres): queries, migrations, query and index optimization.
- Git and PR workflow (small commits, rebase and simple conflict resolution).
- Automated testing (unit, integration and contract) with Jest.
- CI/CD and deployment: pipeline (lint/test/build/deploy), smoke tests, environment variables and logs.
- Observability: structured logs, basic metrics and light tracing.
- Messaging and resilience (BullMQ/RabbitMQ): retries, DLQ, idempotency and ordering when necessary.
- Performance and scalability: profiling, common bottlenecks and trade-offs.
- Applied basic system design: rate limiting, circuit breaker, bulkhead and graceful degradation.
- Concurrency and integrity: locks and consistency (optimistic/pessimistic).
- Knowledge of NoSQL and caching (TTL and risks of inconsistency).
- Incident management: mitigation, RCA/post-mortem and preventive actions.
