Job Description
Software Engineer owning New Relic’s query language and gateway stack. Building scalable Java services and petabyte-scale infrastructure for its observability platform.
Responsibilities:
- Own the New Relic query language and gateway stack
- Participate in cross-functional committees and collaborate with AI, Visualizations, and Data Processing teams
- Build and maintain scalable distributed Java services and petabyte-scale infrastructure
- Investigate and resolve critical performance, availability, and resiliency issues in a multi-region, multi-cloud, multi-tenant distributed database
- Work in an agile DevOps environment and maintain the team’s software
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to system failures
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in collaborative software development
- Firm grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and modern software design and development methodologies
- Strong sense of ownership over code and commitments
- Ability to work deeply with the command line and troubleshoot broken systems
- Experience with Java or equivalent experience in an alternate object-oriented language such as C++, C#, etc.
- Ability to verify identity and eligibility to work
- Criminal background check required
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- May be required to pass an export compliance assessment as a condition of employment
