Job Description
Specialty Representative promoting AbbVie immunology medicines across Washington D.C. Managing physician accounts, sales strategy, and territory performance.
Responsibilities:
- Execute AbbVie’s brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize sales performance
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections and concerns and secure calls to action during sales calls
- Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements
- Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
- Share market intelligence with field teams, brand teams, and sales management
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
- Relevant equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries
- Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
- Demonstrated scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
