Job Description

AbbVie pharmaceutical representative managing urology, gynecology, and oncology accounts in San Antonio. Driving territory sales, customer relationships, brand performance, and healthcare-provider engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales calls
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
  • Analyze customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales intelligence
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales-management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Travel approximately 75% of the time and attend scheduled training events and sales meetings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five (5) years of experience, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, plus a high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills
  • Scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Leadership and peer coaching experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
  • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
  • May require background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
