Job Description
Staff Data Scientist leading cross-functional initiatives for a data technology company. Providing architectural guidance and anticipating future challenges to drive strategic outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Form and lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects that move the needle for the entire organization.
- Provide architectural review and technical guidance at a departmental level, ensuring our Data Science assets are scalable and cost-effective.
- Anticipate business pivots and proactively identify opportunities where data science can solve future challenges.
- Engage the team in using reusable, supported patterns and establish organizational standards for code quality and security.
- Influence the product roadmap and domain strategy using deep technical insights and cost-benefit analyses.
- Continually deepen and document the understanding of the company's entire technology portfolio to prevent silos.
- Propose strategic methodologies to tackle technical debt and refine team processes to increase overall delivery velocity.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in quantitative research and model design.
- Partner closely with Product Management and other senior staff to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery of complex projects.
- Foster a "team vs. me" outlook, helping the whole department become more productive through high-level mentorship.
- Articulate domain and department strategies to any audience and facilitate high-level architecture decision reviews.
- Hold yourself and others responsible for major deliverables, driving excellence through influence rather than just authority.
