Job Description

Staff SDET leading AI-augmented testing for EmpiRx Health’s Databricks-based pharmacy benefits platform. Driving data quality, compliance, automation, and reliability across claims and eligibility workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for Quality Engineering and Test Automation within the Data Engineering space
  • Define and implement test strategies, frameworks, and best practices for large-scale data processing systems in Databricks
  • Act as a subject matter expert for data testing methodologies and AI-assisted compliance testing
  • Design and execute automated tests for ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and batch processes
  • Validate data quality, transformations, and business rules across claims, eligibility, and accumulations workflows
  • Develop scalable test automation solutions for Databricks-based and cloud data environments
  • Partner with Data Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and SMEs to align testing with business and regulatory requirements
  • Integrate automated data quality checks into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps teams
  • Support root cause analysis for test defects, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, PHI, PII, and security standards across testing practices
  • Drive adoption of modern test automation, monitoring, reporting, AI Coding Assistant, and agentic testing tools
  • Continuously improve testing processes for reliability, scalability, and delivery velocity
  • Apply PBM/healthcare expertise, including Medicare Part D, CMS compliance testing, and NCPDP SCRIPT claims adjudication

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; 10+ years of related work experience may substitute for the degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and Test Automation
  • At least 5 years serving as a technical leader for Quality Engineers/SDETs
  • At least 8 years developing and executing Functional/Regression Test Plans and Test Cases
  • Experience with Sanity, Component, Regression, Integration, API, UI System, User Acceptance, Alpha/Beta, and Production Testing
  • 3+ years using cloud-based Data Warehouse/Data Lake/Lakehouse platforms, including deep hands-on Databricks expertise
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, or Google BigQuery
  • 6+ years of expertise with object-oriented programming languages and frameworks, such as C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, C++, or Golang
  • 6+ years developing database scripts, managing database objects, and writing queries in relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI Coding Assistants such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or GenieAI
  • Experience with prompt/context/loop/graph engineering and agentic AI workflows for test automation
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Preferred: experience with test automation frameworks or custom/off-the-shelf tooling for Data Engineering/Data Operations
  • Preferred: experience with Databricks Declarative Automation Bundles (DAB)
  • Preferred: healthcare, pharmacy, or PBM experience
  • Preferred: familiarity with Medicare Part D, CMS regulations, or regulated data environments
  • Preferred: AI-driven quality engineering strategy experience
  • Preferred: Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline experience
