Job Description
Strategic sourcing specialist optimizing procurement, contracts, and supply chain value across Geisinger’s healthcare service lines. Supporting efficient patient care through analytics, bidding, and supplier negotiations.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, project plan, implement, and monitor supply chain expense or utilization opportunities
- Optimize selection, standardization, and utilization of products and services
- Ensure products and services are accurately priced, timely available, appropriately stocked, and efficiently delivered
- Conduct advanced analytics and scenario-based outcome assessments
- Optimize product and service expense and pricing through supply market analysis, value analysis, benchmarking, and utilization assessment
- Conduct competitive analysis and bidding for assigned categories
- Develop and execute supplier negotiation strategies
- Implement contractual agreements for assigned product and service categories
- Evaluate contractual agreements, proposals, commercial terms, business risk, and adherence to guidelines
- Monitor portfolio expenses after contract execution for category and contract compliance
- Develop a semi-annual savings opportunity pipeline through renegotiation, RFPs, spend consolidation, procurement support, technology adoption, and e-sourcing
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to support comprehensive value-based decisions
- Facilitate Value Analysis meetings as required
- Develop complex bid solicitations, review proposals, and negotiate vendor contracts
- Ensure bidding follows an open, fair, transparent, ethical procurement process
- Influence and negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts to meet strategic objectives
- Identify and maintain relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, team members, and vendor organizations
- Build supplier performance management processes
- Apply standard work, procedures, and tools to achieve objectives and deliverables within time and budget constraints
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership and Supply Chain subdivisions to support patient care needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Direct Sourcing, Contract Management, Category Management, or a related business discipline

- Ability to negotiate multi-million-dollar vendor contracts
- Ability to build supplier relationships and establish supplier performance management processes
- Ability to travel for a yearly on-site system meeting
