Job Description

Substation Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams on high voltage electrical substation projects. Ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage projects to achieve high standards of quality, adherence to schedules, and budget goals
  • Develop and update design documents, including one-line diagrams, electrical plans, and specifications
  • Collaborate with customers, project teams, and management to ensure smooth project execution
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI)
  • Identify potential project issues and provide solutions
  • Undertake short-term travel as required by project assignments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high voltage (230kV and above) electrical substation engineering and design
  • Advanced understanding of high voltage electrical substation components
  • Proficiency in engineering software for design and analysis tasks
  • Ability to produce and interpret design documents and drawings necessary for project execution
  • Proven ability to supervise a technical team and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Competent in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
  • Familiarity with GIS is a plus.
