Job Description

Civil Supervisor overseeing quality, safety, subcontractors, and construction standards for ACCIONA’s Central-West Orana renewable-energy transmission project. Managing foundations, earthworks, and substations on a 14-on, 7-off camp roster.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all construction works meet specifications and relevant standards
  • Take responsibility for the quality of supervised work
  • Ensure construction works conform to specifications, standards, and Code of Practice
  • Verify Hold and Witness Point actions are completed before work commences
  • Ensure workers receive project-specific inductions covering hazards and control measures
  • Apply zero tolerance to unsafe work practices or equipment with serious safety or environmental impacts
  • Ensure the project team completes outstanding defects as a priority
  • Record non-conformances and initiate corrective actions
  • Provide leadership to subcontractors and monitor and control their performance
  • Ensure quality and workmanship standards are maintained
  • Drive commitment to quality across the project team
  • Ensure compliance with ACEREZ D&C management system procedures
  • Complete or verify Plant Operator Assessments and Daily and Weekly Checklists
  • Work with permits where required

Requirements:

  • Preferable 5+ years' experience as a supervisor on civil scopes including foundations, piling, and bulk earthworks
  • Preferable experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Understanding of specifications and drawings
  • Experience managing subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures
  • Demonstrated relevant leadership skills
  • Ability to ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
  • Competence in planning and organizing work schedules
  • Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation
  • Self-confidence and ability to persuade, convince, or impress others to gain commitment and cooperation
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate sound judgment, including balancing competing issues
  • Ability to issue clear directions to construction workers
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work on a roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region
