Job Description
Systems Administrator/Engineer managing cybersecurity tools for federal programs at GDIT. Responsible for enhancing security operations, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
Responsibilities:
- Security Tools, Tenable Security Center, Vulnerability Management
- Strong administration experience with: Tenable Nessus, Tenable Security Center, Tenable Agents, Qualys Platform, Qualys VMDR, Qualys CAR, Qualys Policy Assessment (PA), Splunk (SIEM)
- Collaborate with technical teams to enhance vulnerability management practices.
- Monitor systems in real-time to identify vulnerabilities.
- Engage in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Create documentation and report findings effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Security+ CE certification (required)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or security operations
- Strong administration experience with: Tenable Nessus, Tenable Security Center, Tenable Agents, Qualys Platform, Qualys VMDR, Qualys CAR, Qualys Policy Assessment (PA), Splunk (SIEM)
- Solid understanding of: Vulnerability scanning methodologies and CVSS scoring, Risk-based vulnerability management, Operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls), SIEM operations, alerting, and dashboard creation
- Strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking
- Broad technical background utilizing security technologies, such as Server and Workstation Operating Systems, Network Security
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
- Strong written and verbal skills
