Job Description
Tech Lead, SDET overseeing automation frameworks for a healthcare EMR platform. Leading quality engineering strategies and mentoring distributed teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own the test automation architecture and quality engineering strategy across EMR and platform services.
- Design scalable automation frameworks, embedding quality into platform and product teams.
- Mentor SDETs and engineers across geographically distributed teams.
- Drive high automation coverage while balancing execution speed and maintainability.
- Define and own the quality engineering strategy across platform and product teams.
- Establish testing standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with system architecture.
- Actively leverage AI-assisted development and testing tools to accelerate test development and refactoring.
- Lead performance, load, and scalability testing for critical workflows.
- Ensure testing strategies align with HIPAA, security, and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Strong software engineering background with a focus on test automation and quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining Playwright-based automation frameworks.
- Proven experience building or scaling test automation frameworks for distributed systems.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for automation and tooling.
- Experience testing APIs, microservices, and data-intensive applications.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-integrated testing.
- Experience working with and leading near-shore development or QA teams.
- Ability to lead technically while remaining deeply hands-on.
