Job Description
Technical Product Owner/Business Analyst translating healthcare reporting and data needs into actionable requirements. Supporting Nextech’s specialty healthcare technology delivery across product, engineering, data, and QA teams.
Responsibilities:
- Translate epics, roadmap themes, stakeholder requests, and discovery notes into actionable stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation-ready requirements
- Refine scope, identify open questions, document assumptions, and support backlog refinement
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-functional working sessions
- Track follow-ups, decisions, dependencies, requirement changes, and delivery priorities
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery, gap analysis, and process reviews
- Define workflows, process flows, report behavior, edge cases, validation rules, and business requirements
- Specify reporting requirements, data grain, source logic, filters, calculations, outputs, and frontend report behavior
- Maintain mapping tables, data dictionaries, glossaries, lineage, and transformation documentation
- Use SQL and data-querying tools to inspect data and validate requirements
- Validate data accuracy and expected behavior during QA and UAT; partner with QA on test scenarios
- Support intake and triage of client, stakeholder, reporting, and enhancement requests
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Data Engineering, QA, Design, Support, Implementation, Commercial teams, and business stakeholders
- Support release readiness and advocate for scalable, secure, compliant product and data solutions
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, technical business analysis, data analysis, reporting, or related product delivery roles
- Experience translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow documentation, and implementation-ready specifications
- Strong understanding of reporting concepts, data grain, field definitions, filtering logic, grouping behavior, calculations, and validation scenarios
- Working knowledge of SQL fundamentals, including SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, HAVING, and ORDER BY
- Familiarity with relational database concepts, including tables, keys, joins, relationships, and normalization basics
- Experience working with data engineering, analytics, reporting, or data warehouse teams
- Familiarity with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data marts, and reporting pipelines
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story writing, and acceptance criteria definition
- Strong written communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent requests, open questions, and delivery priorities
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly for research, documentation, requirements drafting, summarization, and analysis, with human review and validation
- Familiarity with healthcare workflows, healthcare technology, or HIPAA/HITECH is preferred
- Preferred experience with healthcare technology, EHR, revenue cycle management, ambulatory care, specialty care, healthcare reporting, analytics platforms, data lakehouse architecture, healthcare data standards, or related tools
