Job Description

Technical Product Owner driving user experience and strategic execution for BD Performing Arts' technical initiatives. Responsible for full lifecycle of applications ensuring high-quality implementation with development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive requirements gathering through user research across a wide variety of users and stakeholders.
  • Translate ideas, user needs, and business requirements into clear, high‑fidelity user interface designs using Figma.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications that bring concepts to life and ensure clarity for both stakeholders and developers.
  • Facilitate iterative design reviews with stakeholders, validate usability, and refine designs based on feedback.
  • Own the translation of stakeholder feedback and research insights into user stories and acceptance criteria; prioritize and maintain the feature backlog.
  • Collaborate closely with outsourced/offshore developers to ensure accurate implementation of Figma designs, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment throughout development.
  • Manage day‑to‑day development activities, including sprint planning, QA coordination, and release schedules.
  • Maintain product roadmaps for BDPA’s software platforms, both third‑party and proprietary.
  • Collaborate with partners inside and outside BDPA to innovate offerings and support technical initiatives across the organization.
  • Report progress, risks, and results to executive leadership on a regular cadence.

Requirements:

  • Work experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Figma, including creating wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and developer‑ready UI specifications.
  • Professional experience working with software development teams and modern development processes such as SCRUM and AI‑assisted coding.
  • Progressive vision for AI, including coding (Claude code preferred), agents, security, and responsible AI.
  • Hands‑on experience managing all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies.
  • Team‑oriented with excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • BA or BS in social sciences, marketing, computer science, or a related discipline — or equivalent experience.
  • PMP or CSM certification desired.
  • Passion for pageantry, marching music, or performing arts is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with event management software or event‑driven businesses is a plus.
