Job Description
Technical Service Engineer specializing in aseptic packaging, focusing on installation, maintenance, and customer support. Responsible for mechanical and electrical equipment operations across customer sites.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to perform the mechanical and electrical installation, setup, and commissioning of packaging equipment (e.g., filling machines and down-stream equipment).
- Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) with customers to ensure machines meet specifications.
- Optimize machine parameters to ensure production efficiency and product quality.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on packaging lines.
- Perform urgent repairs to minimize customer downtime.
- Analyze root causes of machine failures and provide long-term solutions.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance visits to inspect equipment, replace worn parts, and ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
- Provide comprehensive on-site training to customers’ operators and maintenance team on machine operation, safety protocols, and routine maintenance.
- Offer remote technical support via phone, email, or video call to assist customers with immediate operational issues.
- Complete detailed service reports, documenting issues found, action taken and log customer feedback after each service visit.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for spare parts sales or equipment upgrades.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service or maintenance role, specifically within the packaging machinery, automation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (motors, gears, conveyors, pneumatics).
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with PLCs (e.g., GE, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell) and HMI troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a customer-first attitude.
