Job Description
Technical Surveying Manager supporting UK lenders with residential new-build valuation and risk advisory. Reviewing high-risk developments, improving processes, and guiding surveyor teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and valuation assistance to Area Managers and Strategic Relationship Managers on escalated cases
- Act as a main point of contact for new build queries involving first-on-site reports, valuation queries, and lender concentration risk
- Review and refine internal workflows to improve operational efficiency
- Produce insightful analysis and meaningful MI for senior management, identifying trends and improvement areas
- Mentor and guide teams through complex tasks while ensuring accountability
- Support risk management, exposure monitoring, and exposure management policy development
- Review high-risk new build development sites through desktop and physical inspections
- Serve as a consistent point of contact for lenders, panel suppliers, surveyors, and area managers
- Communicate lender policy changes and delivery timescales to lender clients
- Create and issue guidance to internal stakeholders and external clients on current and emerging residential survey and valuation issues
- Deliver presentations on residential new build valuation issues
- Work with the New Build team and client lenders to improve the residential new build property advisory services proposition
Requirements:
- AssocRICS or MRICS/FRICS qualified
- Proven experience working as part of a team of remote and office-based qualified surveyors
- Demonstrable experience promoting a culture of compliance within the business
- Detailed knowledge of RICS “Red Book” requirements
- Knowledge of current trends and emerging issues in new build residential surveying and valuation
- Strong organisational and mentoring skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret MI data, identify trends, and implement improvements
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, propose practical solutions, and lead problem resolution
- Proactive approach to identifying improvements in team performance and internal procedures
- Prepared to travel and engage within forums
- Must pass a Criminal Records Disclosure and Credit Referencing Process
