Job Description
Transactional Accountant processing payables, receivables, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting. Supporting GR8 Global’s outsourced accounting clients, including cannabis-focused organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Complete rotational assignments across Outsourced Accounting and Fractional Practice areas, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Reconciliation, Compliance and Financial Reporting
- Work with the Accounting Manager to develop plans and measurable goals for each rotational assignment
- Code invoices to appropriate GL accounts
- Process client vendor invoices and credit card transactions
- Input data into accounting systems
- Review and reconcile vendor invoices and A/P ledgers monthly; identify missing items and discrepancies
- Set up new vendors and administer W-9 records
- Post customer payments and prepare client invoices
- Enter revenues from third-party applications or banks
- Review and monitor open receivables
- Process client payroll weekly, biweekly or semi-monthly
- Manage payroll deductions, benefits, taxes and wage garnishments
- Maintain accurate employee records and payroll files
- Download third-party payroll transactions for tracking and reporting
- Prepare periodic and year-end reports for state and federal agencies
- Ensure timely and accurate W-2 reporting
- Assist with monthly financial statements and reports for clients and Boards of Directors
- Learn and use practice tools including Bill.com, ADP RUN and ADP WorkforceNOW
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent training required
- Previous payroll, payables, receivables and reconciliation experience desired
- Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2010 or later, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with accounting systems; QuickBooks desktop and online versions and Intacct preferred
- Additional technology requirements communicated to selected candidates must be met on an ongoing basis
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Team player with a positive “can-do” approach
- Time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn new technology skills and systems and apply them quickly
- Timely, consistent and accurate delivery of assignments
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and regulations and ability to apply them accurately
- Ability to plan and implement system and process changes effectively and accurately
- Demonstrated client-centric approach
- Minimum internet speed of 50–100 Mbps
